Yo ho ho and a bottle of.. yawn
This is my first time reading Treasure Island. I guess I'm not good at reading "the classics". I am a big fan of dystopian stories and current fiction. So, maybe classics just aren't my thing. But, I feel like I should try to get through some of them, just because they are classics.
Treasure Island didn't thrill me. I found the characters unlikeable and completely lacking in common sense. I know Jim Hawkins is a kid, but still, his choices are questionable to say the least. And the adults aren't much better. The only one with any brains at all is Long John Silver.
I'm sure it was more appealing back in 1883.
